Feudal Japan was a period of time between the 12th
and 19th century. It was all a brutal fight for land, wealth and
power. However there was a lot more to the time than just the fighting. Food,
clothes and beliefs all changed. Take a journey through our website to find out
how the Feudal Japananese times changed religion and spirituality.
The feudal system worked in a ceratin way, at the top of everything was the emperor. Then there was the shogun, then the diamyo and the samurai, the ronin, the peasents, the artisans and finally the merchants. Everything would work in this order. Those at the end (the merchants) were the least important and those that were first (the emperor) were the most important.

What makes Feudal Japan Unique?
Feudal Japan is unique because during that period of time, Japan really changed. From religions to fashion, to punishments, art, culture, food, architecture and social customs. Everything changed. How everything worked changed (See the system above for a better idea).
